Two Secondary Schools in Genoa

Two secondary schools in Genoa, Italy, sought a program combining Mandarin learning and cultural immersion for their 14–17-year-old students, enabling them to develop real-world Chinese communication skills and broaden their cross-cultural perspectives.

We designed a two-week study tour for 19 students, with Mandarin classes each morning and cultural activities each afternoon. The curriculum incorporated the 5C framework, using scenario-based, task-based, and thematic teaching methods with differentiated instruction. Cultural activities emphasized hands-on experience, helping students build language proficiency and cultural understanding simultaneously.

Students showed a clear increase in willingness to speak Chinese and confidence in cross-cultural communication. Some students continued using Mandarin in daily life after returning home. The program received positive feedback from both schools and parents.

“He returned home excited, confident, and full of stories. As parents, we felt reassured and deeply grateful.”

OiChina

OiChina is a leading Mandarin education platform for Portuguese speakers in Brazil with 20 years of experience. The institution wanted to give its 10–16-year-old students a chance to practice Chinese in real-life settings in China, turning classroom knowledge into real communication skills.

We designed a one-week immersive study program, running daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with Mandarin classes in the morning and cultural experience sessions in the afternoon. The team included one Chinese language teacher, one cultural program teacher, and one teaching assistant, helping students use Chinese in authentic, everyday situations.

The program received strong recognition from OiChina. Students showed a noticeable increase in confidence when using Chinese in real contexts. OiChina has confirmed continued collaboration with GoEast Kids for 2026.
